County Schools, Nursing Home, Prison and More Utilize ESS’s Top-of-the-Line Solution in Their Fight Against COVID-19

New York, NY, January 26, 2021 – Environmental Surface Solutions (ESS), the gold standard of clean that identifies, eradicates and protects against harmful pathogens (including Coronavirus), today announces the extension of its contract with Rensselaer County, NY, for long-term, cost-effective environmental safety protocols.

Knowing a COVID-19 outbreak can be devastating to any business and community, Rensselaer County decision-makers have worked closely with ESS to ensure public venues (such as schools, jails and retirement homes) are kept safe. The Vanderheyden School, Rensselaer County Correctional Facility and Van Rensselaer Manor retirement home were among the first treated. ESS disinfected the sites with its Pro Oxide® chlorine dioxide-based antimicrobial protectant coating, which kills pathogens such as viruses and bacteria.

An independent lab testing was done identifying existence of COVID-19 virus on surfaces pre-ESS treatment. After ESS’ treatment was applied, multiple areas were retested, including door handles, water bottles, hair picks, TV remotes, counter tops (hard surfaces) and bedding covers (soft surfaces), slippers and cookie containers to ensure the treatment was effective in eliminating any and all viruses.
• Schodack Central School District: When it came time to resume in-person learning in the Schodack Central School District, a crew of 12 ESS technicians spent hours sanitizing and disinfecting the high school and elementary school buildings to safely welcome back students and staff.
• Rensselaer County Correctional Facility: ESS was able to treat and disinfect over 25,000 square feet of the facility – in record time. Since it was not possible to relocate prisoners, ESS team members were able to safely work around them. According to one official, ESS’s cleaning returned peace of mind to officers, civilians and inmates.
• Van Rensselaer Manor: Van Rensselaer Manor is a nursing home and rehabilitation facility – the largest in the county. ESS was able to disinfect the entire 830,000-square-foot nursing home, with no disruptions to the nursing home’s routine schedule or occupancy.
